Loca (T. 'jig rten; C. shijie/shijian) is a Sanskrit/Pali term that is commonly translated as "world" or "realm"; this term has a variety of meanings.

Loca can be used to refer to:[1]

  • a specific realm with various types of beings, or
  • an entire world system

Loca can also have the sense of the world and its inhabitants.
