Samāpatti (T. snyoms 'jug སྙོམས་འཇུག་; C. dengzhi/zhengshou) is translated as "attainment," "meditative absorption," etc. It is "a state of deep concentration produced through the practice of meditation."
According to Buswell, samapatti can be literally translated as "correct entrance."
