Shi'ermen lun. (S. *Dvādaśamukhaśāstra, J. Jūnimonron; K. Sibimun non 十二門論). Literally, “Twelve Gate Treatise.” One of the “three treatises” of the San lun zong. This text provides an interpretation of emptiness in twelve chapters.[1]

According to tradition, this text is a Chinese translation of an Indian text named *Dvādaśamukhaśāstra, made by Kumarajiva in 409.[1]

According to the Princeton Dictionary, "No Sanskrit or Tibetan recensions of the Shi’ermun lun are known to have existed and the Sanskrit title is a tentative reconstruction."[1]

The Sanskrit title is reconstructed variously as follows:

  • *Dvādaśamukhaśāstra[1][2][3]
  • *Dvādaśadvāraśāstra[4]
  • *Dvādaśanikāyaśāstra[5]
