Kingdom of Sogdiana (aka. Sogdia).

Sogdiana [alt. Sogdia]. An ancient kingdom in Inner Asia centered on Zeravshan River in present-day Uzbekistan.[1]

The Princeton Dictionary states:

The Sogdians dominated trade between China and India from the second through the tenth centuries CE. Their language, Sogdian (a branch of Indo-Iranian), was used along the Silk Road as a mercantile language and Buddhist texts from China were translated into Sogdian and used by Buddhists in this region. (There is no evidence that Buddhist texts in Indian languages were translated into Sogdian.)[1]
