Trophu Kagyü (Tib. ཁྲོ་ཕུ་བཀའ་བརྒྱུད་, Wyl. khro phu bka' brgyud). One of the eight minor schools of the Dakpo Kagyu, founded by Gyeltsa Rinchen Gonpo, a disciple of Phagmo Drupa, in the twelfth century.[1]

Rinchen Gonpo founded Tropu monastery, which became the seat of the tradition. The acclaimed translator Tropu Lotsāwa Jampa Pel, Rinchen Gonpo's nephew, would eventually establish the Tropu Kagyu as a distinct lineage.[1]
