Yan Fotiao

Yan Fotiao (嚴佛調). A monk of the Later Han dynasty from Linhuai 臨淮, also known by the names Futiao 浮調 and Fotiao 佛調. He was a contemporary of An Shigao and he worked together with the layman An Xuan to translate such texts as the Fajing jing 法鏡經, and the Ahan koujie shier yin 阿含口解十二因經. 〔梁高僧傳, 出三藏記集〕 〔翻譯名義集 T 2131.54.1129a2〕 [Charles Muller]
